Sign Up for Service

If you are not currently a residential customer of Brantford Power and would like to start service, you can use this form to sign up. Upon receiving the form by email, fax or mail one of our Customer Service Representatives will be in contact with you shortly to confirm your account details.

Security Deposit

If you’re a new customer, you’ll be required to pay a security deposit when you activate your account.  The deposit is not necessary if:

  1. You have a continuous 12-month good payment history within the last 24 months  involving a local distribution company or utility in Canada.  You’ll need to provide a reference letter from the utility as evidence.
  2. Brantford Power performs an external credit check that is authorized by you. Our charge for this service is $20.00, a fee approved by the Ontario Energy Board. If you pay a deposit the amount will be based on the average monthly bill for the property or area times 2.5 months.

Security deposits can be paid by cash, cheque, debit card or Visa/Mastercard. You can pay your deposit in installments over six months.

Deposits will be returned upon:

  • a good payment history for one year
  • have switched to retailer consolidated billing
  • termination of service

We pay interest on the deposit, which is calculated monthly.
