Scam Warning!
Brantford residents are reporting SCAM calls from a 1-800# claiming to represent Hydro One demanding immediate payment or disconnection. Utilities do not threaten immediate disconnection. This is scam. Hang up and don’t provide any information
Beware of Scams imitating the Ontario Electricity Support Program (OESP). Here are some helpful tips.
- The OESP does not have a Facebook page. Any Facebook page that appears to be the OESP is a fake and is not endorsed by or related to the Ontario Energy Board in any way.
- The only legitimate website for the OESP program is ontarioelectricitysupport.ca. Scam websites do exist.
- A home energy assessment is not required to apply for the OESP or any other Ontario Energy Board-administered energy bill payment assistance program.
- There is no fee to apply for the OESP.
